Jesus answered and said to him: If any one love me, he will keep my word. And my Father will love him and we will come to him and will make our abode with him. He that love me not keep not my words. And the word which you have heard is not mine; but the Father’s who sent me (Jn14:23-24)

Our head which is Christ, has willed us to be His members. As a result, by the bond of love and faith He makes us one body in Himself. It is fitting for us to adhere our hearts to Him since without Him we can’t be anything. But through Him we can be what we are called to be. Don’t let anything divide us from our well established Head, lest by refusing to be members, we be left separated from Him and wither like branches fallen from a vine. Therefore, in order to be considered the worthy dwelling place of our Redeemer, we must abide in His love with completely resolved minds. For He Himself says, “ If any one love me, he will keep my word. And my Father will love him and we will come to him and will make our abode with him. But we can’t stay close to the Author of Good unless we cut covetousness – for its is the root of all evil…. Therefore we eliminate greed from the temple of faith. It only serves Idols, Then we won’t face anything hurtful or disorderly while in the House of the Lord. ….. By Gregory I

Daily indulgence : An indulgence, on the usual conditions at the end of a course in Spiritual exercises” (Pious X Rescript in his own hand, UD 17,1908,Exhib. NOV 14,1908; s.p. aP., Oct 24, 1935)

Lord Jesus, who art our most loving Redeemer and a Priest for ever look mercifully upon us, Thy humble suppliants, who, Thou hast been pleased to call thy friends and partakers of Thy priesthood. We are to Thine; We wish to be Thine forever: therefore to Thy Most Sacred which Thou hast shown to oppressed humanity as their as their only safe refuge, we dedicate and devote ourselves wholly this day. Thou who has promised plenteous fruit in the divine ministry to those priests who are devoted to the Sacred Heart, make us we beseech Thee, fut workmen in Thy vineyard , truly meek and humble, filled with the spirit of devotion and patience, so fired with love of thee that we shall never cease to enkindle and enquicken the same fire and love in the hearts of the faithful. Renew our hearts, therefore, in the fire of thy Heart, so that henceforth we shall desire nothing save to promote Thy glory and win for Thee the souls whom Thou didst redeem by Thy Precious Blood. Show Thy mercy, good shepherd, chiefly to those priests, our brethren, if there be any such, who, walking in the vanity of sense have saddened Thee. Thy beloved Spouse Holy Church, by their lamentable falling away from Thee. Grant us grace to bring them back to thine embrace, or, at least, to atone for their crimes, to repair the harm they have done, and to lesson the sorrow they have caused Thee, by the consolation of our love. Allow us each finally, to pray to Thee in the words of Saint Augustine: “ O’ sweet Jesus, live Thou in me, and let the living coal of Thy love burn brightly in my spirit, and grow into a perfect conflagration; let it glow in my marrow, let it blaze up in the most secret places of my soul; in the day of my consummation let me be found totally consumed thereby in Thy presence, who with the Father and the Holy Ghost livest and reign one God for ever and ever. Amen.”
