10/31/2018 “Statements of Faith” in “sola Scriptura” 501st Anniversary-10/31/1517

(This following article was written in October, 2018 before the started. It was delivered to 50 of my local Evangelical brethren for their Anniversary of Day Of The Dead (Dia de los Muertos), Celebrating 501 years of Christian discord. Today, the “City” reprints this on the Anniversary of Martin Luther FIRST MASS said as an Augustinian Monk. From this jumping off point, he moved into his heresies that assisted the reformation (st they call it), to the 49,000 christian theologies and Modernism. From article, i Quote, ”
” Modernism claims to possess in its immediate and immanent sense of God a congenial soil for the growth of mysticism; this soil, however, does not receive its waters from the undefiled fountain-head of Catholic piety, but from the cisterns of Liberal Protestant pseudo-mysticism, which are tainted, either confessedly or secretly, by Pantheism.”

Modern evangelicals immersed in the Martin Luther ”Sola Scriptura” Theological proposition.

Modernism Has Now “a universal affirmative theory” belief for all Christians. . Yet, We must NOW all hold, as critical “essential” faith to be a “true Christian”. The essence this belief subscribes to; freedom of inquiry to “written scripture , the authoritative inerrant word of God”. {However; for Over 1500 years, previous to this, the Paradosis & historical evidence, “that Christians never held this belief” is irrelevent to this “culture of Disobedience”} Discordantly, as Luther’s first “Statement of Faith” metastasized apart from the steadfast Apostolic Paradosis, so has modern day reformed Christianity, (to & fro over 33,000 inter denominational, nondenominational Christian churches), equipped with store front bible preachers. Nearly all unified in the 5 Solas including “bible alone”.

Statement of Faith Martin Luther n Sola Scriptura, plus 3 current Evangelical sources:

Martin Luther faith statement on bible: The Bible is the only source of faith; it contains the plenary inspiration of God; its reading is invested with a quasi-sacramental character.

  1. Another sample of a Faith statement by “sola scriptura” Christian belief : “The sole basis of our beliefs is the Bible, God’s infallible written Word, the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. We believe that it was uniquely, verbally and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and that it was written without error (inerrant) in the original manuscripts. It is the supreme and final authority in all matters on which it speaks. We accept those areas of doctrinal teaching on which, historically, there has been general agreement among all true Christians” (Campus Crusade for Christ in the United States. Cru is an interdenominational Christian evangelism ) 2 That the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired of God and are without error as originally written, and that they are the authoritative Word of God; the only infallible rule of faith and practice for the Christian life.
    3 Bible. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God; without error as originally written. Its content has been preserved by Him, and is the final a.. author in all matters of doctrine and faith-above all human authority. SCRIPTURAL SUPPORT…. (copied from an evangelical

They WILL NOT LISTEN to the Church!, WILL they LISTEN to the WORD OF GOD?

[T]he “sane” members of the Church respect the sacred canons, and refer matters pertaining to these to bishops and presidents, thus showing by their deeds a great respect for those whom they esteem for the sake of the good order. (The Fount of Knowledge: On Heresies, 100) St. JOHN of Damascus      Using the scripture of KVJ so not to be maligned!!!, for not using or reading the Bible.

  1. (Jn16:4;Jn16:12-15) But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you. “I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now”. How be it when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
  2. (Lk24:44-45)And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
  3. (2Pet3:15-17) And account that the long suffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also, in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.
  4. (Acts2:41-42) Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. And they continued steadfastly in the Apostles’ Doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
  5. (Jn20:29-31) Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
  6. (Mt28:16-20) Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. And when they saw him, they worshiped him: but some doubted. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” Amen.
  7. (Acts15:24-30)(Tit1:9) For as much as we have heard, that certain (“men”) which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment: It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth. For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well. So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle: {for example: (Synod of Rome, Hippo, Carthage); 4th Lateran & Trent}
  8. (Jn14:23-26) Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that love me not keepe not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me. These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (see Acts20:35)
  9. (Jn21:24-25) This is the disciple which testify of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true. And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
  10. {(Lk1:35); And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow {epeskiasei} thee: (Lk2:19) – But Mary kept all these things(Zec9:9), and pondered them in her heart; (Lk2:35) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.(Zec9:8)” (Lk2:48 ;51)….”behold thy father and I sought thee sorrowing.”…but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart. (Jn2:1-12) ….His mother saith unto the servants, “What so ever he saith unto you, do it”….. & (Jn19:25-27)… he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home. After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished ….} (1Jn5:18) We know that whosoever is born of God sin not; but he that is begotten of God keep himself, and that wicked one touch him not. (EX20:12) Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God give thee.
  11. The certain choice, to follow Apostolic paradosis from day1, (Acts2:42,46) or choose instead, a separate path. (Jn6:65-66). “From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, “Will ye also go away”? “Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God .(Jn6:66-71)} The Church Fathers pointedly place in three chapters, accounts of Paul’s conversion and the Certainty that Christ is the Head of his Church: Saul, a paid assassin of the Pharisee’s becomes a slayer for the Lord, “Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecute: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. (Acts9:4-5; 22:8-9;26:14-15)
  12. Speaking to authority” outside of scripture: (not One of which can directly apply to any church established 1500 years AD & later, without complete CHAOS):(Lk10:16) power to speak with Christ’s Voice; (Mt18:18) Power to legislate; (Mt18:17) power to discipline; (1(Cor11:23-24) power to offer sacrifice! (Jn20:23) power to forgive sins; (1Cor11:2) and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. (2Thes2:15) Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. (2Thes3:15) Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walk disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. (Mt23.2-3) “Moses chair observe what they tell you”. {hint: NOT held by the Pharisees after they crucified Him (Mt23:37; Jer18:5-13; Mt27:51-53)}
St. & Doctor Athanasius Defender of the One True Faith

St Athanasius (360 AD) Saint & Doctor of the Church wrote “let us note that the very traditions, teaching, and faith of the Catholic Church from the beginning which the Lord gave. was preached by the Apostles, and was preserved by the Apostles and preserved by the (‘Early Church’) Fathers. On this, was the Church founded; and IF ANYONE departs from this, he NETHER IS OR NO LONGER ought to be called a Christian….” {Four letters to Serapion of Thimus1,28}

A call to Unity from scripture: I appeal to you brethren, by the name of Jesus Christ, that you all agree that there is NO dissension among you, that you be united in the same mind and same judgment. (1Cor1:10) with the One and Only True Church founded by Jesus Christ. You are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of Apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the corner-stone (Eph2:19-20) – The Catholic Church! The One and Only {Katholike} grk. I beg you, return to the Body of Christ and stop tethering “Outside the Walls.” of Mother Church. “Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.”(Mk9:24)
