“For from the rising of the sun even to the going down, my name is great among the Gentiles, and in every place there is sacrifice, and there is offered to my name a clean oblation: for my name is great among the Gentiles, saith the Lord of hosts”. (Malc1:11) [written 5 centuries before the Christ appeared as True Man.](ccc1330,1350, 2643)
City “Can you not hear this verse and the perfection of the words regarding our Catholic Mass or Divine Liturgy? “My name is great among Gentiles!” In every place, on every Catholic altar in Union with St Peter, today in every Country known to man a Mass is being offered. The holy priests command “in my name (Jesus) is our clean oblation, we call the sacrifice of the Mass, remembrance, celebrating the Lord’s crucifixion.” As of this date, CityofGod.blog has posted over 150 essays, but until now, none on this Most Holy Sacrifice. The Eucharist, and daily mass is central to our Catholic faith and traditions, initiated on the eve of our Lord’s Passion Great and Holy Thursday “the Last Supper”.
But the prophet was NOT satisfied, only to proclaim this prophesy, he provides a gruesome warning for those who “profane Our Lord’s Table”. In the following three verses:
“And you have profaned it in that you say: The table of the Lord is defiled: and that which is laid thereupon is contemptible with the fire that devour it. And you have said: Behold of our labor, and you puffed it away, saith the Lord of hosts, and you brought in of rapine the lame, and the sick, and brought in an offering: shall I accept it at your hands, saith the Lord? Cursed is the deceitful man that hath in his flock a male, and making a vow offer in sacrifice that which is feeble to the Lord: for I am a great King, saith the Lord of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the Gentiles.” (Mal1:12-14)
Some may say, and it is true, that Malachi is speaking to the Hebrew imperfect sacrifice. Yet he finishes, referencing the Gentile once again. Is the deceitful man (a priest) that hath in his flock a sexual partner, and still making VOW offerings and oblations with these defiled hands? Or just as easily, he speaks to all deceitful apostate christian ministers, who profane the holy sacrifice, presenting as the Lord’s body but remembrance to his unholy peoples (lame and sick outside the true flock? OR, Malachi speaks to members of the elect, the Catholic Church, who frivolously present themselves as holy but in truth have souls that are rapine, lame and sick at the Lord’s Altar as these heretic-ally believe only part of the Gospel or pray with the heathens outside His Church? But these go to the altar, so as not to be embarrassed, but haven’t seen the inside of a confessional in several months or even a year or God Forbid more than a year? If you are one of these humbly reconcile yourselves, drink your cup of gull (humility) and return to the holy flock of Jesus. As Malichi warns, “my name is dreadful among the Gentiles”.
Originally “City” intended to provide a summary or make a synopsis of, “The Hidden Treasures” of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, by St. Leonard of Port Maurice. He went to confession twice a day, ” in order,’* as he says, *’ to celebrate Holy Mass with the greatest possible purity of heart.” As I looked to provide these truths, as a foundation for Our City’s walls. I realized his (St. Leonards), words were complete, and I could be short changing the readers, or worse, improperly provide the true magnificent descriptions that this priest memorialized for all. So enjoy, the daily updates, and the true mysteries that he shared for all the faithful. And make time to attend Holy Mass daily.
