Included in the Catholic Church faith as delivered to us from Jesus Christ to the Apostles is summarized in the Apostles Creed.
#946 After confessing the holy Catholic Church the Creed adds the Communion of Saints. In a certain sense this article is a further explanation of the preceding: “What is the Church if not the assembly of all the saints?”479 The communion of saints is the Church. CCC#947- Since all the faithful form one body, the good of each is communicated to the others. . . . We must therefore believe that there exists a communion of goods in the Church. But the most important member is Christ, since he is the head. . . . Therefore, the riches of Christ are communicated to all the members, through the sacraments.”480 St. Thomas Aquinas, Symb., 10. “As this Church is governed by one and the same Spirit, all the goods she has received necessarily become a common fund.”481Roman Catechism I, 10,24. The entire TRUTH as spelled out in this Catholic Catechism on the theology of the Communion of the Saints may one day be found on this page also. CCC946-962
On this CityofGod.blog page you should find, everything posted, relating to the Saints. That part of the Church’s Mystical Body that has merited Her reward in union with Christ, in heaven., alive in the first resurrection. Only a few exceptions have their own page or pages for the City of God; the Blessed Virgin Mary (Theotokos), St. Augustine for example. The Catholic Church by her exercising her Authority of Whatever you Bind and Loose on Earth is bound in Heaven(Mt18:18), (Power of the Keys, Mt16:16-19) proclaims the right to grant Sainthood, upon evidence of recorded miracles and other conditions. We should find all the Saints writings that intercede for His Church on this page. Their words and faith well documented guard the “Sensus Fidelium” with the Holy Spirit for the Holy See, in protecting the Doctrines of the Apostles until Christ’s second coming, at the end of the age. The saints words stand guard and support our understanding, in the PROCLAMATION OF THE TRUTH. Their lives are exemplary witnesses to God’s forgiveness, and holiness. These saints intercede on behalf of our Church, they are the Church Victorious, in Christ’s Cross.
The intent of CityofGod.blog is doctrinal postings in this area due to the primary heading “Apostles Creed” While prayer life and mystical theology by the Saints can find its way in the Stairway to Heaven subtitles, primary heading. If the essay does not incorporate more than three primary topics, it is possible to find the article in both places. Hopefully the judgement of categorization will be consistent. Please comment if you find a definitive error in this regard.
Recently a trip to the Holy Land and it’s wretchedness brought me these sentiments. Where only 1% of the population is christian and even less are faithful Catholics! Who are left in this region to bring light to that corner of the world; proclaiming the Gospel news of Christ’s redemption. Yet nearly all of these […]
