The following, is NOT a “treatise” on the “Doctrine of the Cross” in 1 essay. Many great Saints and plenty more Sacred Scripture attest. But a Lenten preparation… a foretaste, of this inexhaustible mystery. The per the home page “Spiritual Works of Mercy”, for a more fruitful “pass-over, paush, Passion, and Festival of Weeks – Pentecost, to share as Christs Mystical Body, in this world.

Wisdom Sofia be attentive: We love and suffer to Obey,
“Pick up your cross and follow me!” (Mk8:34)

Why we suffer: God deems His creation very good (Gen.1:31). First sins in the Garden separates man from God. The man & woman were given 1 rule to follow, all the rest of Eden gifted as their Kingdom. “And the Lord God took man, and put him into the paradise for pleasure, to dress it, and keep it. “And he commanded him, saying: Of every tree of paradise thou shalt eat: But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat. for in what day soever thou shalt eat of it, thou shalt die the death.” (Gen2:16-17). One command, and Eve then Adam disobeyed Him. For Adam (created age 33=6) was first formed; then Eva. And Adam was not seduced; but the woman being seduced, was in the transgression. Yet she shall be saved through childbearing; if she continue in faith, and love, and sanctification, with sobriety (2Tim2:13-14).

St Augustine teaches us in Enchiridion: Faith, Hope and Charity that this was not one sin of Disobedience (Chapter 45)

but also included : 1) Pride, our 1st parents chose self dominion vs God., 2) sin of blasphemy, (disbelief in God), 3) murder ( suicide) knowing God said he would die, brought death, 4) spiritual fornication – sin against purity – corruption of the soul, 5) theft, by eating what he was forbidden to touch, and 6) avarice – for they craved more than what was sufficient for them. (see post above title day 6)

In Jesus Words: Crucified fully human, (at age 33=6):

He that loves father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me; and he that loves a son or daughter more than me, is not worthy of me. And he that take not up his cross, and follow me, is not worthy of me. He that find his life, shall lose it: and he that shall lose his life for me, shall find it. (Mt10:37-39)

Then Jesus said to his disciples: If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For he that will save his life, shall lose it: and he that shall lose his life for my sake, shall find it. For what doth it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul? Or what exchange shall a man give for his soul? For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels: and then will he render to every man according to his works. (Mt24:27)

And calling the multitude together with his disciples, he said to them: If any man will follow me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life, shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel, shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? For he that shall be ashamed of me, and of my words, in this adulterous and sinful generation: the Son of man also will be ashamed of him, when he shall come in the glory of his Father with the holy angels. (Mk9:34-38)

The Way: Sorrowful Mystery, Praying in the Garden

I. Imitation of Christ

 A work of spiritual devotion, also sometimes called the “Following of Christ”. Its purpose is to instruct the soul in Christian perfection with Christ as the Divine Model. It consists of a series of counsels of perfection written in Latin in a familiar and even colloquial style, and is divided into four parts or books:

  1. Useful admonitions for a spiritual life,
  2. Admonitions concerning spiritual things;
  3. Of interior consolation;
  4. Of the Blessed Sacrament.

With the exception of the Bible, it is perhaps the most widely read spiritual book in the world. It was first published anonymously in A.D. 1418. Our saints have contributed with their thoughts and words on this subject, here are three spiritual writers: St Bernard, St Bonaventure, Innocent III, that can bring this to the light.

The Prophet Isaiah, O. T.Sacred Scripture prefigures the foundation of the Doctrine of the Cross through Divine Prophesy for our Suffering Servant & Messiah:

BEHOLD my servant, I will uphold him: my elect, my soul delights in him: I have given my spirit upon him, he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. He shall not cry, nor have respect to person, neither shall his voice be heard abroad. The bruised reed he shall not break, and smoking flax he shall not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. He shall not be sad, nor troublesome, till he set judgment in the earth: and the islands shall wait for his law. (Is42:1-4) (Mt12:15-21)

Jesus Cutter of Sin Icon, “Catholic Church a hospital for Sinners” , St Augustine

GIVE ear, ye islands, and hearken, ye people from afar. The Lord hath called me from the womb, from the bowels of my mother he hath been mindful of my name. And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword: in the shadow of his hand he hath protected me, and hath made me as a chosen arrow: in his quiver he hath hidden me. And he said to me: Thou art my servant Israel, for in thee will I glory. And I said: I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength without cause and in vain: therefore my judgment is with the Lord, and my work with my God. And now saith the Lord, that formed me from the womb to be his servant, that I may bring back Jacob unto him, and Israel will not be gathered together: and I am glorified in the eyes of the Lord, and my God is made my strength. And he said: It is a small thing that thou should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to convert the dregs of Israel. Behold, I have given thee to be the light of the Gentiles, that thou mayst be my salvation even to the farthest part of the earth. Thus saith the Lord the redeemer of Israel, his Holy One, to the soul that is despised, to the nation that is abhorred, to the servant of rulers: Kings shall see, end princes shall rise up, and adore for the Lord’s sake, because he is faithful, and for the Holy One of Israel, who hath chosen thee. (Is49:1-7);

The Lord hath given me a learned tongue, that I should know how to uphold by word him that is weary: he waken in the morning, in the morning he waken my ear, that I may hear him as a master. The Lord God hath opened my ear, and I do not resist: I have not gone back. I have given my body to the strikers, and my cheeks to them that plucked them: I have not turned away my face from them that rebuked me, and spit upon me. The Lord God is my helper, therefore am I not confounded: therefore have I set my face as a most hard rock, and I know that I shall not be confounded. He is near that justify me, who will contend with me? let us stand together, who is my adversary? let him come near to me. Behold the Lord God is my helper: who is he that shall condemn me? Lo, they shall all be destroyed as a garment, the moth shall eat them up. Who is there among you that fear the Lord, that hear the voice of his servant, that hath walked in darkness, and hath no light? let him hope in the name of the Lord, and lean upon his God. Behold all you that kindle a fire, encompassed with dames, walk in the light of your fire, and in the dames which you have kindled: this is done to you by my hand, you shall sleep in sorrows. (Is50:4-11); (Mt27:27-31); (Mk15:16-20); (Lk22:63-65); (Jn19:1-15)

The Way: sorrowful Mystery Scourging (By Is_Ruiz)

ARISE, arise, put on thy strength, O Sion, put on the garments of thy glory, O Jerusalem, the city of the Holy One: for henceforth the uncircumcised, and unclean shall no more pass through thee. Shake thyself from the dust, arise, sit up, O Jerusalem: loose the bonds from off thy neck, O captive daughter of Sion. For thus saith the Lord: You were sold gratis, and you shall be redeemed without money. Or thus saith the Lord God: My people went down into Egypt at the beginning to sojourn there: and the Assyrian hath oppressed them without any cause at all. And now what have I here, saith the Lord: for my people is taken away gratis. They that rule over them treat them unjustly, saith the Lord, and my name is continually blasphemed all the day long. Therefore my people shall know my name in that day: for I myself that spoke, behold I am here. How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bring good tidings, and that preach peace: of him that shew forth good, that preach salvation, that saith to Sion: Thy God shall reign! The voice of thy watchmen: they have lifted up their voice, they shah praise together: for they shall see eye to eye when the Lord shall convert Sion. Rejoice, and give praise together, O ye deserts of Jerusalem: for the Lord hath comforted his people: he hath redeemed Jerusalem. The Lord hath prepared his holy arm in the sight of all the Gentiles: and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God. Depart, depart, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing: go out of the midst of her, be ye clean, you that carry the vessels of the Lord. For you shall not go out in a tumult, neither shall you make haste by flight: For the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will gather you together. (Is53:5-12); (Mt26:57-68); Mk14:53-65); Jn18:19-24); (1Pet2:21-25) THE spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord hath anointed me: he hath sent me to preach to the meek, to heal the contrite of heart, and to preach a release to the captives, and deliverance to them that are shut up. (Is61:1)

[XVI] Book II Conception: Instructions of the Queen of Heaven on her Divine Visions enjoyed. # 643. Instructions: ****Posted prior “ in its entirety” on the – Title “ Wisdom Corporeal Visions of Divine Origin #643”, posted 2/2/2019. {Locate Stairway to Heaven , click on drop down Instructions Mary of Jesus Mystical City of God.}

#644. Instructions: **** My daughter on the enlightenment in this chapter your certain rule : submitting to the judgment of your confessors and superiors,….. ask the Most High with lively faith, that He give them light to understand His divine will and truth to instruct you fully. The other is consists in questioning your own heart and observing the effects of these revelations and visions, prudently trying to assure yourself against error. [****]

#645. Instructions: **** And in order that thou dearest, execute this Doctrine, which thou hast received through the kindness of the Most High, do not forget it, and do not lose sight of the blessing of having been instructed by Him in these things with so much living caresses; renounce all human esteem and consolation, all the delight and pleasure of the world. To be able to Suffer for One’s sin is not only Mercy, it is demanded of Justice. All that is earthly inclinations demand, refuse to thyself, although it may be small and licit in itself; turn thy back on all sensible things, seeking only to love and to suffer. This is the science and divine philosophy taught thee by the visits of the Most High and in it thou will feel the force of the divine fire, which should never through thy fault and negligence, be allowed to become extinguished in thy bosom. Be alert, dilate thy heart, gird thyself with Fortitude in order to be commissioned with great undertakings and able to accomplish them. Be constant in your Faith, regarding these admonitions, believing in them esteeming them and writing them in your soul with a humble and loving affection of your heart and transmitted to thee by me your Teacher and Mistress.. XVI The child Mary in the Temple, the Lord prepares her for trouble

#673 Instructions****: Esteem for the blessings of Tribulations, that in the hidden providence God dispenses for justification of mortals. These are the judgments justified in themselves [Ps 18,10, 11] and are more valuable than precious stones and gold, more sweet than honeycomb, to those who know how to hold them in proper esteem. My beloved, that to suffer and to be afflicted with or without special and great mercy of the Almighty; moreover to be allowed to suffer for one’s sins. Is not Only mercy, but is demanded of justice. Behold, however the children of Adam, desiring, and seeking after emoluments, benefits and favors agreeable to their senses…..It would be to their greatest benefit to seek tribulations diligently even when unmerited, yet they strive by all means to avoid them, even when merited, without having undergone such sufferings. [****]

INRI – Bloodied, humiliated and mocked as “INRI”: Our King of Sorrows, “Walks the Talk”, His WAY of the Cross. Hidden in Plain Site, the Wise of the world, see Not !

#674 Instructions: Remember, to suffer and be afflicted (with or without ones own fault) is a benefit of one cannot be worthy without special and great mercy of the Almighty. Why then do mortals deceive themselves expecting (in spite of their sins) to become pure and worthy of enjoying God without the furnace or the file of sorrows. In evading crosses and affliction which are the paths left open for returning to God, in rejecting the light of the intellect (recognizing the deceptiveness of visible things). Jesus was born and lived continually in afflictions and died on the cross.

#675 Instructions: Rejoice and congratulate thyself in thy sufferings, when the Almighty deigns to send thee any, hasten to meet it and welcome it as one of his blessings and pledges of his glorious love. Furnish thy heart with magnanimity and constancy, so that when occasion of suffering is given thee thou may bear it with the same equanimity as the prosperous and agreeable things. Be not filled with sadness in executing that which thou has promised in gladness, for the Lord loves those that equally ready to give as receive. He signalizes and distinguishes thee as his own with the sign of his friendship which are no other than the tribulations and trials of suffering.

#676 Instructions:**** Take notice, my dearest, that my Most Holy Son and myself are trying to find among those who have arrived at the way of the cross, some soul, whom We can instruct systematically in this divine science and whom We can withdraw from the worldly and diabolical wisdom, in which the sons of Adam, with blind stubbornness, are rejecting the salutary discipline of sufferings. If thou wish to be our disciple enter into this school, in which alone is taught the doctrine of the cross and the manner of reaching true peace and veritable delights. Looking for souls who have arrived at the Way of the Cross. My daughter, choose for thyself the better part of being among the lowly and the forgotten ones of this world.…. Mary says, yet, I was little known, and my Son was despised by men. If this Doctrine were not valuable and secure, We would not have taught it by word and example. This is the light which shines in the darkness (Jn1:7) loved by the elect and abhorred by the reprobate.

[XVII] Book I : Princess of Heaven suffers Affliction: God absents Himself from holy Mary:

#686 Instructions: All goods are estimated according to the appreciation in which creatures hold them. Since there is only one true God, … that only the highest Good is to be is to be appreciated and recognized, then you can give him true appreciation and love, when you shall enjoy and esteem Him above the visible things of this earth.   By this appreciation, and love will also be measured the sorrow of losing Him and from this, You can understand somewhat my sentiments when the eternal God absents himself from you.

#687. Instructions: *** Imagine then, what ought to be the grief of losing God, really by sin, if, without the bad effects of sin, the absence of our true Good could cause such terrible suffering to the soul, knowing at the same time, that it has not lost Him, but still possesses Him through hidden and disguised to its present consciousness. BUT this wisdom seems far from the mind of carnal man: with a most perverse blindness make much of the visible and fictitious good, they torment themselves and are disconsolate. And although my Son has brought a remedy for this dreadful ignorance contracted by the first sin, by meriting for men faith and charity. Thereby affording them the possibility of knowing and experiencing to a certain extent the Good, never experienced: yet O sorrow , how easily charity is wasted, for any kind of pleasure and how often faith remains without any fruit and is involved n death. The sons of darkness live as if they had only a counterfeit or doubtful connection with eternity. ***

#688. Instructions: Fear, my soul, this so slightly accounted danger; rouse thyself and live always in watchfulness and preparation for the attacks of the enemies, who never sleep. Let thy meditation day and night be, how I can provide against losing the highest good, which thou love. If some times thy Beloved hides Himself from thee, hope in patience and seek Him solicitously without ceasing, since we know not his secret judgments. For the time of his absence and temptation provide thyself with the Oil of Charity and good intentions, so that it fail thee not in time of necessity and thou may not be rejected with the foolish and negligent virgins.

Simon of Syria is Conscripted by Rome’s Army, the “Via Dolorosa”

[XVIII] Other Afflictions, some permitted by the Lord through the agency of creatures and the ancient serpent.

#709 Instructions: The sons of perdition, who serve vanity, are ignorant of the treasures of suffering injuries and of pardoning them a heart and make a boast of vengeance, which even according to the requirements of natural reason is reprehensible and arises from a heart brutal and beastly rather than from a human. … Vice versa he who pardons injuries magnanimously and forgets them although he may not have divine faith nor the light of the gospel becomes noble and excellent, and does not pay tribute to revenge,

#710. Instructions: Between the person who pardons and suffers injuries , and the vindictive, there is the same difference as between the one and only heir and the deadly enemy; this one provokes all wrath of God and the other merits and obtains all blessings; because in this virtue he exhibits a most perfect image of the celestial Father.

#711. Instructions***: I wish thee, O’ soul, to understand that to suffer injuries with equanimity and to pardon them entirely for the Lord, will be more acceptable in his eyes, than if thou choose of thy own will to do the most severe penance, and shed thy own blood for Him. Humble thyself before those that persecute you, love them and pray for them from the heart; thereby shalt thou turn toward thee in love the heart of thy God and rise to perfection of holiness thus overcoming hell in all things. The great dragon who persecutes all men, was confounded many times by my humility and meekness, and his fury could not tolerate the sight of these virtues. From them he fled more swiftly than the suns rays. I gained great victories for my soul and won glorious triumphs for the exaltation of the Divinity.

#712. Instructions: …. Labor for the imitation of that, which thou has understood and written; show thyself meek, peaceful, and agreeable toward those, who molest thee, esteem them truly in the heart, and do not take vengeance on his instruments, nor despise the inestimable jewel of injuries. As far as lies in thee always give good for evil, benefits for injuries, love for hate, praise for blame , blessings for malediction. Bless them that persecute you: bless, and curse not. (Rom12:14) then thou will be perfect. I say to you, Love your enemies: do good to them that hate you: and pray for them that persecute and calumniate you: That you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven (Mt5:44-45), the beloved spouse of thy Lord, my friend and my most cherished daughter.

[XIX] Most High enlightens the Priest of spotless innocence of Virgin Mary, and of Anne’s impending death

#725. Instructions: The most valuable science of man is to know how to resign himself entirely into the hands of his creator, since he knows why he has formed him …. Mans sole duty is to live in obedience and in love of his Lord. God will take upon himself the management of all affairs and all the events of this life in order to draw blessings and benefits for those that thus trust in his Fidelity. He afflicts and corrects the just with adversities, he consoles and rejoices them with his favors, He inspires them with hope in his promises, and threatens them and inspires them with fear by his threats; He absents himself in order to attract more love, He shows Himself to the souls in order to reward and preserve them in fervor, and in all these things he makes the lives of the chosen ones more delightful and beautiful….. He visited me and prepared me for His Mercy with many different kinds of blessings and difficulties and labors, persecutions of creatures, and the separation from my parents and from all men.

Pick up your Cross, Follow Me

#726. Instructions: For with the sorrow for the death of my mother, holy Anne, God permitted me to be present at her death. O my soul, how many blessings do men lose by not attaining to this wisdom!? They hold themselves aloof from the divine Providence, which is powerful and sweet and unfailing, which measure the orbs of heaven and the elements; which counts the footsteps, discerns the thought, and disposes everything for the benefit of the creatures. Instead men are given over to their own solicitude, which are inefficient and weak, blind , uncertain and inconsiderate… What is still worse , if by his carnal wisdom and by diabolical astuteness to which man resigns himself, he succeeds sometimes in obtaining what he seeks, he deems himself fortunate on account of this, his own misfortune. And with sensible pleasure he imbibes the poison of eternal death in the deceitful delight , which he has gained, while incurring the alienation and abhorrence of his God.

#727. Instructions: Mind well, my daughter, let they whole solicitude be to cast thyself securely into the arms of thy Provident God and Lord…. confide in his Goodness and in his promises, which do not admit of failure; He says through the prophet to the just: that it is well with man, since God takes upon Himself with them in order to deal with them according to his generosity. “Say ye of the righteous that it shall be well [with him], for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.” (Is3:10) . By means of this most secure confidence thou wilt even in this mortal life enjoy the blessedness of a tranquil and peaceful conscience; and although thou may find thyself surrounded by the tempestuous waves of trial and adversity which cast over thee sorrows of death.”When thou hold my goings in thy paths, my footsteps slip not.” (Ps17:5). And although the terrors of hell surround thee, suffer and hope in patience, so that thou err not from the portal of the grace and the good will of the Most High.

[XX] Most High confers on Mary an extraordinary favor. Instructions given from Mary, of the Queen of Heaven.

#739 Instructions: The greatest wisdom for souls consists in the knowledge of the cross , in the love of sufferings, and putting this knowledge into practice by bearing afflictions with patience. …for the faithful and loving servant should always prefer the liking’s of his Lord to his own convenience. ….the duty of conforming to their Father and Lord , nor his declaration, that all their salvation consists in following Christ in his sufferings and that his sinful children must reap this fruit of the redemption by the imitation of their sinless Chief.

#740: Instructions: My dearest, accept this doctrine and engrave it deeply into thy heart. Understand that as a daughter of the Most High, as a spouse of my Son, and as my disciple, even if from no other motive thou MUST ACQUIRE the precious gem of suffering and thus become pleasing to thy Lord and Spouse. I exhort thee to select the sufferings of his cross in preferences to his gifts and favors and rather embrace afflictions than desire to be visited with caresses;….(to avoid self love)….but in accepting tribulations and sorrows, thou canst be moved only by the love of Christ. And if preference is to be given to sufferings rather than to delights, wherever it can be done without sin, what foolishness is it, when men pursue so blindly the deceitful and vile delights of the senses, and when they abhor so much all that pertains to suffering for Christ and for the good of their soul?

#741. INSTRUCTIONS: *** Thy incessant prayer, my daughter, should be always to repeat, here I am Lord, what will Thou do with me? Prepared is my heart, I am ready and not disturbed. What does Thou wish me to do for Thee?” These sentiments should fill thy heart in full and true import, repeating them more by sincere and ardent affection, than by word of mouth. Let thy thoughts be exalted. Thy intentions most upright, pure and noble, desiring to fulfill in all things the greater pleasure of the Lord, who with measure and weight dispenses both SUFFERINGS and the favors of his grace. …. Every Disorder, be it yet so small, and all that may be less pure and perfect , see thou curtail and expunge immediately, even though it is allowable or even some profit; all that is not most pleasing to the Lord, thou must consider evil, or as useless for thyself; no imperfection must appear small to thee, if it is displeasing to God. With this anxious fear and holy solicitude, walk securely; and be certain , my dearest daughter,….

#752. Instructions: … the judgments of the Lord should not be scrutinized by mortals, since they are impenetrable. His majesty commanded me to enter the state of matrimony and at the same time concealed from me the sacrament dependent upon it. Matrimony was required in order that my parturition might be respectable in the eyes of the world, and that the Word, made incarnate in my womb, might be reputed as the son of my husband, since at the same time the world was to remain ignorant of this mystery.

#753. Instructions: I wish thee to understand, my daughter, that the certain prospect of being espoused to any man, without at the same time knowing the majesty concealed from me by the Lord, was the greatest sorrow and affliction, which until then I had ever experienced; and if the divine power had not strengthened me in this pain, and had not given me some kind of confidence, although it was only obscure and undetermined, I would have lost my life in this suffering…..Whenever the soul seeks to scrutinize the decrees of wisdom and satisfy itself before it obeys and believes, let it be convinced that it defrauds the Creator of its glory and honor, and at the same time loses for itself them merits of its works.

#754. Instructions: … God is superior to all creatures and that He had no need of our foresight; for He seeks only subjection of our will, since the creature cannot give Him Counsel, but only obedience and praise. And although, on account of not knowing what He wished for me and ordained for me in the state of matrimony, the love, which I had for Chasity caused me much affliction; yet that grievous sorrow did not make me curious and inquisitive, but served to make my obedience more excellent and pleasing in his eyes. By this example regulate the subjection ….to the pleasure of the Lord thy spouse, resigning thyself entirely to his protection and confiding in the firmness of his promises….allow thyself to be governed without resistance to their commands and to the divine aspirations.

#770. Instructions: “The Most High placed me, thou find a reproof for those souls, who allege their life in the world as an excuse for not following perfection.” Mary, “ I lived in the house of my spouse with the same perfection as in the temple; I altered neither my sentiments nor my desire and anxiety to love and serve God. The Lord will do the same for all men, if on their part they correspond. Never imagine thyself exempt from the pursuit of perfection on account of a superioress; for since God has placed these in office of Obedience, thou, must not despair his assistance and protection. He himself will assume the duties the responsibility of strengthening thee and helping thee fulfill thy duties, without relaxing the pursuit of a perfect love due to God.

#771. Instructions: ** And IF there is no excuse for the living a perfect life in the world, still less will the duties and obligations of the religious state be an excuse. NEVER imagine thyself exempt from the pursuit of perfection on account of being a Superioress; for since God has placed thee in office of OBEDIENCE, thou must not despair of his assistance and protection;……Oblige Him by the sacrifice of thy own will, submitting in humble patience to al that his divine Providence may ordain, I assure thee of his protection and of the power of his divine arm to direct thee and guide all thy actions toward perfection.

The Way: Blood and Water, piercing His Heart

III St Faustina: comments on the Mass: (Diary 1512)

“Today, during Mass, I saw the Lord Jesus in the midst of His sufferings, as though dying on the cross. He said to me, My daughter, meditate frequently on the sufferings which I have undergone for your sake, and then nothing of what you suffer for Me will seem great to you. You please Me most when you meditate on MY sorrowful passion, Join your little sufferings to my Sorrowful Passion, so that they may have infinite value before My Majesty.” (Dairy 1512)

[Wisdom be Attentive] Not only does the Mass have infinite value because of the love of Jesus, as Son, has for the Father, but even our little sufferings can have infinite value when joined to Jesus Sorrowful Passion. Unite our sufferings, our blessings, to Jesus when joined to His Offering, has infinite value when joined to that infinitely pure love of Jesus for the Father.]  2016 <Marion Fathers of the Immaculate Heart Conception of the BVM.>

IV Plato & Aristotle “There is much beauty in human drama that comes from suffering.”

Grant me this, O’Lord the Courage to Wear A Crown of Thorns Conclusion: Meditating on the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We see, Jesus is teaching us, NOT ONLY, the Roman authority (the world), is mocking, and humiliating us but in Truth, they were also acknowledging His Kingship, as he demonstrates the merit’s of the Way for us, His Crown of Thorns and the Cross inscription, (INRI), by Pontius Pilot both “ are exaltation’s of His Triumph, Our REX of Sorrows, are stumbling block for the wise of worldly matters, a consternation of the Jews. Whose imitation is demanded of us to reach understanding, and urges abandonment of illusions in this “material girl” world. The world fears pain and sufferings ( Eithanasia, now a hot-topic, as an example), but our two true models for success, as well as many of His saints quietly demonstrate the value of their suffering in Christ, Let us “Walk the Talk”o f the “WAY”, while in this world, in the Wisdom of His Doctrine of the Cross. The hopes to inspire Spiritual Works in your mercy to bear wrongs patiently, to forgive offenses willingly, as graces from God for your soul. We have heard this in our Catholic lives, “Imitate Jesus and Mary”. Who knows, you may become the next St Bernard that asks, knocks and receives, “What wound O Lord was your greatest unrecorded suffering?” The Response from the “REX of Israel”, (inscribed on the cross for all eternity), was his shoulder that bore the Cross on the Way of Sorrows, that tore His flesh was more painful than the others. Thus requesting devotion to Honor this wound to earn the merit whatever you shall ask. (Annals of Clairvaux). An Exorcist, Fr Ripplinger, explains that suffering souls are left alone by demons of Satan, as these give glory to God for their suffering, thus waste their time and the demons fails to earn glory for themselves, and Satan thru manifesting their attacks on our bodies. The World fears pain and sufferings, but the Church’s true models for success point to the suffering and humiliation as jewels for our very own Crown of Thorns, a Heavenly reward and graces for reaching the sublime.
