This CityofGod.Blog post is directed to all believers, with prideful hearts worshiping the Creator separate from His Son, Spirit and outside His Holy Church.
Jealous – adj. Fiercely protective or vigilant of one’s rights or possessions.
The Word of God, to consider: A Jealous God, Word search:
Thou shalt not adore them, and thou shalt not serve them. For I am the Lord thy God, a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon their children unto the third and fourth generation, to them that hate me,” [Deuteronomy 5:9]
“For I am jealous of you with the jealousy of God. For I have espoused you to one husband that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.” [2 Corinthians 11:2]
“Thou shalt not adore them, nor serve them: I am the Lord thy God, mighty, jealous, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me:“
Adore not any strange god. The Lord his name is Jealous, he is a jealous God.” [Exodus 20:5, .34:14]
You shall do my judgments, and shall observe my precepts, and shall walk in them. I am the Lord your God.” “Sanctify yourselves, and be ye holy because I am the Lord your God.” “I am the Lord your God, who have separated you from other people.” [Leviticus 18:4, 20:7, 24]
“Hear, O my people, and I will speak: O Israel, and I will testify to thee: I am God, thy God.” [Psalms 49:7]
“Be converted to me, and you shall be saved, all ye ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is no other.“ [Isaias (Isaiah) 45:22]
The Lord is a jealous God, and a
revenger: the Lord is a revenger, and hath wrath: the Lord take
vengeance on his adversaries, and he is angry with his enemies.”
“For I also am a man subject to authority, having under me soldiers: and I say to one, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my servant, Do this, and he doth it.” [Luke 7:8]
When you hear the scripture verses above, What are you thinking?
What does Jealous mean to you? Below the title is the definition of Jealous. The English understanding of these verses using the term Jealous. Our understanding therefore is God is fiercely protective!, and He is careful to watch over His possession. Are we not the same way, with the ones we love? Do we protect and become possessive with our spouse, our children? And If we were not, would our spouse think something is wrong with the relationship?
When it comes to our wife or husband are we not Jealous for them? When you espouse each other, do you then expect your spouse to pick up with whomever he or she meets? And then Come home like nothing happened? Well of course not. We become deeply offended. Often this breaks an already broken marriage. I say broken, because If your spouse was loving you, this could not happen. If you the spouse had given all to your marriage, would the other leave for another’s bed, or home?
Consider; what Paul writes, “that God espoused us to one husband.” Should this mean that we should be running around on our spouses? Is He not speaking to a greater espousal? Have you not heard or read in scripture; Jesus calls himself the Bridegroom and the Church his bride? We have a marriage. Do you not realize so many verse and parables, are references to the King and His Son’s marriage, are about the salvation of your souls?
BUILD MY CHURCH; ESPOUSED YOU TO 1 HUSBAND.
Does scripture clearly state, that Jesus establishes a Church? I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (Matthew16:18) He calls himself the bridegroom and the verse, “ For I have espoused you to one husband” (2 Corintheans 11:2). In our own marriage vows we say this, “for better of for worse”? Is this not what Paul explains? When he says, present yourselves like a chaste virgin. Not only must we be faithful to Jesus Christ’s Church, but we can not be slaves to sin ( slaves to your pride!, disobedience!). When we sin, do we remain chaste virgins?, in the eyes of God. Do you want to be His spouse? With your whole heart, mind and soul? Or something else, in some other church, or following new precepts and commandments?
If you, as spouse are whoring about on Jesus; how can you still be a Chaste Virgin? When Jesus takes His Church as his Bride, then 1530 years or more later, how do you justify making your bed somewhere else? Since Jesus (The Bridegroom) is espoused to His Church, the One He established and promised fidelity. How can you explain the Holy Spirit moving about with another bride, as if He were FREE seeking another wife?
When Jesus was asked of marriage and divorce what was his response?
“From the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. “For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother; and shall cleave to his wife. And they two shall be in one flesh. Therefore now they are not two, but one flesh. (Mark10:6-8). Therefore His law of Grace, commands no divorce, they become One flesh. Should God not abide by His own precept? Why of course He does, it is ludicrous, to suggest otherwise. If He does not abide by rightful precepts, could it be the Truth?
Did God not do everything to bring his people Israel to Him. Jesus spent three years preaching to the Jews, he sent his disciples across the countryside preaching principally the Jews. We see Jesus being abandoned by the Pharisees. But he makes a point about not healing a Samaritan woman’s child, until she begs Him for a table scrap. God came to save the sinners of Israelites, but instead they crucified Him. God was faithful, Israel abandoned Him. He remained faithful, but a Jealous God the Jewish leaders rejected His Son.
Can the Christian expect something better? Because we are special?
If God offers us espousal to be our bridegroom, but instead Christians offer Him infidelity what then? Jesus came down from heaven, started his Church…. He tells St Peter, “On this rock, I build my church.” Jesus spent three years teaching the disciples how to pray, showing them by word and deed, how to worship the Father. He not only appointed them, but anointed them in power. It is this understanding, St Peter and the other appointed ordained priests of Christ, the 12 apostles were sent on the mission preaching the gospel to all nations. Jesus promised the Spirit of Truth will be present with them. “You shall do my judgments, and shall observe my precepts, and shall walk in them. I am the Lord your God.” “Sanctify yourselves, and be ye holy because I am the Lord your God.” “I am the Lord your God, who have separated you from other people.” [Leviticus 18:4, 20:7, 24]. He promised a Spirit of Truth not a Spirit lies or adultery.
The early Church understood these passages. Non believers could not participate in the holiness of God’ s Eucharist. They were dismissed during the Anaphora. What remained were the holy people celebrating, receiving and thanking God for the His gift of Himself. How can God make a dwelling place (in your soul) where people surrounding you apply the principal “Sin boldly.” Jesus says in another place “Be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect”(Matthew5:48). By this we are to understand, “Sin boldly?” How can this Not be a contradiction? What message is this?, but the evil one speaking. If then you obey my commandments, which I command you this day, that you love the Lord your God, and serve him with all your heart, and with all your soul:“ (Deuteronomy11:13) Where is your tabernacle? In a Chaste Virgin? or an adulterer?
Do you claim to be the spouse of God (Jesus) when your pride says to His Bride. You are a whore? You are unworthy? you are an adulterer? PLACE YOURSELF INTO THIS CONVERSATION... How long does your spouse sit and listen to this reprehensible talk about your spouse, before standing and defending his or her name? How many of you after someone belittles and condemns your spouse, thinks, I want to fellowship with these neighbors, that think so little of my bride? How then can God be dwelling in YOUR house, when His spouse is unwelcome? “Be converted to me, and you shall be saved, all ye ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is no other.” (Isaias (Isaiah) 45:22). This verse tells us to be converted to God. The opposite would be to reject him. Where does scripture tell you , “Be saved rejecting God”? When you reject His Church, that He founded to dwell within and come to You? Is this not a Rejection of Him? If not Why? Defend it by a book?
Unfaithful Spouse fellowships with Charles, Joel or John or Jimmy
But many unfaithful spouses choose fellowship in Luther’s house, John Calvin’s home, John Smyth, Robert Brown, John Knox’s dwelling places. Or prefer Joel Osteen’s false promises, or better yet sounds of Charles Fox Parham’s Babel and hundreds of other Jimmy Swaggarts preaching another gospel; reading from a book.
Persevering in the Doctrines of the Apostles:
Not the gospel doctrines of the Apostles, as first heard by Christians, stated in (Acts2:42) And they were persevering in the doctrine of the apostles, and in the communication of the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
What Bible did these people read? Did the 1st, 3000 say? “Oh, If it’s not in the Book, I do not believe! And If you have The Book, do you persevere in the Apostles Doctrine! OR Choose to believe other men who were neither sent OR appointed, by your Book!
Amen, amen I say unto you, that he who hears my word, and believes him that sent me, has life everlasting; and comes not into judgment, but is passed from death to life. (Jn5:24)
“For I also am a man subject to authority, having under me soldiers: and I say to one, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my servant, Do this, and he does it.” [Luke 7:8] What does Jesus say about this Roman? Which Jesus hearing, marveled: and turning about to the multitude that followed him, he said: Amen I say to you, I have not found so great faith, not even in Israel. (Luke7:9).
