Moses

The 1 – Aaron, the High Priests

The 3 – Aaron, Nadab, Abihu

The 12 – Twelve Pillars of 12 Tribes

Moses must take on his mission for Israel

And he said to Moses: Come up to the Lord, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abiu, and seventy of the ancients of Israel, and you shall adore afar off. [2] And Moses alone shall come up to the Lord, but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people come up with him. [3] So Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice: We will do all the words of the Lord, which he hath spoken. [4] And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord: and rising in the morning he built an altar at the foot of the mount, and twelve titles according to the twelve tribes of Israel. [5] And he sent young men of the children of Israel, and they offered holocausts, and sacrificed pacific victims of calves to the Lord. [4] “Titles”: That is, pillars.[5] “Holocausts”: Whole burnt offerings, in which the whole sacrifice was consumed with fire upon the altar.[6] Then Moses took half of the blood, and put it into bowls: and the rest he poured upon the altar. [7] And taking the book of the covenant, he read it in the hearing of the people: and they said: All things that the Lord hath spoken we will do, we will be obedient. [8] And he took the blood and sprinkled it upon the people, and he said: This is the blood of the covenant which the Lord hath made with you concerning all these words. [9] Then Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abiu, and seventy of the ancients of Israel went up: [10] And they saw the God of Israel: and under his feet as it were a work of sapphire stone, and as the heaven, when clear. Neither did he lay his hand upon those of the children of Israel, that retired afar off, and they saw God, and they did eat and drink. [12] And the Lord said to Moses: Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and the law, and the commandments which I have written: that thou mayst teach them.

“Moses therefore came, and told the people the words of the Lord, and assembled seventy men of the ancients of Israel, and made them to stand about the tabernacle.” [Numbers 11:24]

[17] And Jesus answering, said to him: Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jona: because flesh and blood hath not revealed it to thee, but my Father who is in heaven. [18] And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. [19] And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose upon earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven. (Mt16-19)

The 3 – Inner Circle

Then Jesus came with them into a country place which is called Gethsemani;… And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to grow sorrowful and to be sad. (Mt26:36-37)And after six days Jesus take with him Peter and James and John, and lead them up into an high mountain apart by themselves, and was transfigured before them. [2] And his garments became shining and exceeding white as snow, so as no fuller upon earth can make white. (Mk9:1-2) And he admitted not any man to follow him, but Peter, and James, and John the brother of James ……But he having put them all out, take the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and enter in where the damsel was lying.

(Mk5:37-40) Which when Simon Peter saw, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying: Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord. [9] For he was wholly astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken. [10] And so were also James and John the sons of Zebedee, who were Simon’s partners. And Jesus saith to Simon: Fear not: from henceforth thou shalt catch men. And having brought their ships to land, leaving all things, they followed him. (Lk5:4-11)“And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he named them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder:” [Mk3:17]

The 12 -Matthew 10:2-5 records: the TWELVE APOSTLES

And the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, [3] James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the publican, and James the son of Alpheus, and Thaddeus, [4] Simon the Cananean, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. [5] These twelve Jesus sent: commanding them, saying: Go ye not into the way of the Gentiles, and into the city of the Samaritans enter ye not. Jesus answered them: Have not I chosen you twelve; and one of you is a devil?(Jn6:71)

The 70. Jesus appointed and sent the 70

And after these things the Lord appointed also other seventy-two: and he sent them two and two before his face into every city and place whither he himself was to come. And he said to them: The harvest indeed is great, but the laborers are few. Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send laborers into his harvest. (Lk10:1-2)

.. And the seventy-two returned with joy, saying: Lord, the devils also are subject to us in thy name. And he said to them: I saw Satan like lightning falling from heaven. Behold, I have given you power to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and upon all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall hurt you. But yet rejoice not in this, that spirits are subject unto you; but rejoice in this, that your names are written in heaven. (Lk10:17-20)
